I write today to share some initial information about the search for the next president of the University. The Board of Trustees will be implementing a search process that will allow everyone to contribute. We will conduct a national search with the goal to appoint the new president effective July 1, 2023.

Texas Wesleyan University President Frederick G. Slabach has accepted the position as dean of the University of Mississippi School of Law effective July 1, 2023. 这一任命取决于密西西比高等教育委员会在2月份的董事会会议上的最终批准.

In an email to the campus community, Slabach expressed pride in the work of the faculty and staff in fulfilling the University’s mission in higher education, writing that “the work we are doing together here at Texas Wesleyan has been the pinnacle of my professional life. 我很高兴能成为这个社区的一员，并继续保持势头. Because of you, the University’s future is bright.” 

Texas Wesleyan University Board of Trustees Chair, Glenn Lewis, said the University is a better institution today because of Slabach’s hard work and dedication.
